A portrait in oil, painted on canvas or board, made from your photographs — a person, a pair, a dancer mid-movement, a pet. Painted in my own hand rather than copied line for line.
The story
I started painting portraits because of the way a face holds a moment that a photograph only records. A good reference photo is a starting point; what I am after is the tilt of a head, the light on a shoulder, the thing that makes someone recognisable to the people who love them. Every portrait is painted in oil on stretched canvas or on wood panel, finished with a protective varnish so it lasts for generations. I work from the photographs you send, and we talk before I start about what matters most to you — a particular expression, a colour, a piece of clothing, a memory. Oil dries slowly, which is part of the pleasure: the paint stays workable long enough to chase the likeness.

Tell me about it
Send your idea, a few reference photographs and the size you have in mind through the form.
- Step 2
Brief and quote
We agree the composition, surface, size, price and delivery date in writing. A 50% deposit reserves your slot.
- Step 3
Sketch
You see a sketch and we adjust the composition together — two rounds of revision are included.
- Step 4
Paint and deliver
Progress photos along the way, balance due before dispatch, packed and shipped insured and tracked.
